Canterbury Woodchip Supplies (CWS) plays an integral role in the agricultural arena supplying a premium grade animal-bedding which is ideally suited to most livestock, but in particular dairy calves. With the use of our own fleet of trucks, we provide calf bedding to an extensive number of customers reaching from South Canterbury through to Hurunui. In 2009 CWS was nominated as the individual supplier to all live dairy-exports leaving New Zealand’s shores. It is the reputation of a consistently high-grade litter which has led us to becoming the business of choice for such products.

In 2014 an alliance was formed with the Bioenergy Association of NZ (BANZ) to assist in developing a framework for woodchip supply standards, in relation to an alternative fuel option for energy users. The outcome has seen the implementation of a national ‘Accreditation Scheme” which sets clear parameters for both existing and potential bio-fuel suppliers to adhere. In so doing, there has been a dramatic lift in the quality of products available to consumers and this can only be seen as an enormously positive step forward for industry.
